Experience in Industry
My experience in information technology spans over 25 years with a variety of platforms and software development languages. I began working with the Web in 1996.
With over 20 years of teaching experience at Harper College, I began as adjunct, became a full-time faculty member in 1998, and was honored with Professor Emeritus status in 2014. My innovative use of instructional technology and teaching methodology has been recognized. I was awarded the Glenn A. Reich Memorial Award for Instructional Technology for innovative course design and teaching methods. I received the 2006 Blackboard Greenhouse Exemplary Online Course Award for innovative use of Internet technology in the academic environment within my E-Commerce Development course. The Instructional Technology Council (ITC) presented me with their 2008 Outstanding e-Learning Faculty Award for Excellence.
My published work includes books, a dissertation, a book chapter, and journal articles. My first web development textbook, Web Development & Design Foundations with HTML5 is in its 9th edition. Acclaimed features of this successful textbook, such as Hands-On Practice activities and case studies, have been integrated into my second textbook, Basics of Web Design: HTML5 & CSS3, currently in its 4th edition. Both web development textbooks are published under the name of Terry A. Felke-Morris.
I've been taking photographs for my web development textbooks for over a decade. Now that I'm retired I have time to focus on fine art photography.
The editors of the Capture Door County: The Best of Door County in Photography and Capture Door County: Seasons Behind the Door chose three of my photographs for publication in each of these books. Christopher Arndt licensed two of my photographs for use in his recently published book, Door County Extraordinare.
Several photographs have been licensed for Door County post cards!
Prints of my photographs are available for purchase at Fine Art America.
I have studied drawing, photography, and painting (watercolor and acrylic) intensively for over five years -- taking workshops at a variety of venues, including the Sedona Arts Center, Peninsula School of Art (Fish Creek, Wisconsin), and The Clearing (Ellison Bay, Wisconsin). My work is has been accepted into seven juried exhibits. It's a great feeling when a painting or photograph sells at a gallery!
My academic credentials include a Doctor of Education degree, a Master of Science in Information Systems degree, and a Master Online Teacher Certificate. I have also earned a number of industry certifications. View Resume (PDF)
